An extremely limited edition of 20 prints size 11 x 17 on glossy archival card stock depicting the Royal Mail Steamer Baltic of the newly organized transatlantic division for the White Star Line. She is shown arriving in New York on her way towards the North River turning past Castle Gardens Immigration Center. The third sister ship built by Harland and Wolff shipyards for Thomas Ismay's Oceanic Steam Navigation Company Limited. Her sisters in order were Oceanic, Atlantic and Republic. Entering service in September of 1872 the Baltic served White Star until sold to Holland America Line in 1888. She briefly captured the Blue Ribband for an Eastbound passage making the voyage in a record 7 days 20 hours 9 minutes. Sandy Hook, NJ to Queenstown (Cobh), Ireland was the start and finish line. Her average speed was 15.09 knots. She was lost at sea in 1898 after striking a submerged wreck in mid-atlantic. All souls aboard were saved when by Providence the American Line steamer SS St. Louis happened upon the foundering vessel in stormy seas during the middle of the night. In a divine act of grace the storm clouds dissipated and allowed a full moon to shine upon the scene during rescue operations.
